Another Day, Another Card...

Ok, I STILL haven't gotten to Mojo Monday yet - but I'm tryin'!!!!

Today's card is an old one I just hadn't posted. I don't know why but I just haven't been interested in making cards lately. Sick and tired of being sick and tired maybe? I dunno.
I made this one for our friends Tricia and Darrell. They had us over for dinner last weekend and I wanted to send them a fun card because they have two young girls!

I started with bright yellow cardstock and mounted a piece from the scrap bin of glittery patterned paper from my DCWV All Occasion Glitter Stack. I tore a piece of green Corecolor Coredinations paper for the bottom and layered a bit of it over the pattern paper. I used a stamp that is from Stampendous in my Changito in Space set. I inked him in Jet Black Ink and embossed him with Stamp-It's Hologram Powder. I used the sentiment "You Rock" from the same set and punched it out mounting it on yellow. The stars are also from that set and I did the same as I did with the sentiment. I colored all the images in with my favorite Crayola's and added some confetti stars by making them stickers with my Xyron! (Love that thing!)

Thanks for stopping by!

Laziness always rules!!!

Ok, so I didn't get to Mojo Monday yet, I was just too lazy today! I thought that the sun was going to come out and I didn't want to waste garden time since it is supposed to snow tomorrow :( I know, I can't believe it either. Ugh.

This card is just a quicky. I started with some orange cardstock and mounted a green piece of sparkly paper from my DCWV All Occasion Glitter Stack. I ripped a piece of blue Coredinations Core Color paper for the left side and stuck that on over top the background. The stamp is from Stamping Bella and I inked it up with Jet Black ink and embossed it with Stamp-It's Hologram Powder. I used my Crayola's to color it in, and found some paper punched flowers left over from another project. After adding pale green jewels to the centres, I bent the "petals" a bit to make the dimensional.
Thanks for stopping by!

Good Monday!

Hello All!

It is a BEAUTIFUL day here in Calgary! Supposed to get up to 21 degrees! That's why I'm posting now so I can putter in my garden all day! Uhhh.....love it! The sad news is, we are supposed to get snow on Thursday, Friday and Saturday!!!! They have to be joking right?!?

Today's card I made with another stamp from my sister-in-law's collection. No idea where she got this one, but I love the saying. I started with a scrap from the bin of light cream and burgundy filigree paper and mounted it on card stock from my DCWV Jewel Textured Stack. I then used some paper called "Happy Holidays" by Jackie Eckles that I had left over from a class I took at Scrapbooker's Paradise at Christmas. I believe it was the acrylic album class I took with Dana from Dana's House of Cards! That's when we met! I cut out two pieces from the back of that holiday paper which is the polka dots and mounted them both on the same burgundy card stock as before. The bottom one I made a frilled edge on the right so I could add the jewels. I made a six layer flower (I love to layer as many as I can) and fastened it with a orange jewelled brad. I dusted all the edges of the cardstock with DuDrop's Jumbo Java Ink and added the burgundy with lemons ribbon on the right. I bought that ribbon a long long time ago at Michael's and I still have tonnes of it left! I tied a knot in it at the top and tucked the mounted sentiment "All things grow with love" under it. Ta-da - finished!

I sure hope the weather is as nice for all of you as it is here!

Have a great Monday - OH, I just remembered - it's Mojo Monday - I haven't done a challenge in forever - watch for ti tomorrow! YAY!

I'm baaaaaaaaccccckkkkk......

Wow! What a week! I have been so sick it is almost unimaginable. I finally went to a Naturopath (after my brother scolding me!!!) and I am so glad I did! I guess my Lymphatic Drainage System isn't working so I have been collecting the "bad" kind of bacteria in my stomach for a long time (many many years!). So, now it is just so bad that my body can't fight it off. I'm on meds and the doctor promised me I would start to feel better soon! Whew!

So, I'm sorry for the hiatus ladies! But I haven't even wanted to get out of bed!!!!

The first card after being back is a quicky I just did. I went to visit my parents for Easter and my sister-in-law and I LOVE to get together and stamp! We had a few hours one day so I used all her stamps and she used all mine! (which is only about 10 - let's face it!) It was great! She has the best stamps - and tonnes too!!! I dream of being as good as her one day!!! :) I could go on forever about her talent!!!

Anyways...the card. I started with a scrap (yes still doing the scraps thing!) that is some sparkly flower paper. I have no idea where I got it, but I love it, and I have the same one in all pinks too.

The striped paper on the left is a scrap too from a Dollarama pack and I used two pieces of ribbon both the same pattern, one purple and one green. The stamp is my sister-in-law's and it was from a clear set she got at Michael's. I stamped it with jet black ink and embossed it with Stamp-It's Hologram powder. What else would I use - really?!? I colored it in using my Crayola's and put a clear jewel on the top of the cupcake! The sentiment "Hi Cupcake!" is from the same clear stamp set and it is stamped and embossed the same way. I mounted everything on purple paper from my DCWV Jewel Texture Stack and used my sissors to cut the frilled edges. After making knots with the ribbon and putting them on with a pop dot each, I used 3 tiny jewes in the bottom left corner to finish it off! Not bad for my first day back after a long week of sickness! YAY!!!

Hope you guys are all well. Tomorrow I'm gonna do some serious blog hoping - it's been forever! Can't wait!

Have a great Saturday!!!

One Last Card...

I am squeezing this one in as the hubby glares at me for not getting organized for going away, but scraping instead! heehee. I'm set to go - I swear! LOL I wanted to just get one more card in because you probably wont see another post until Tuesday, maybe even Wednesday.

I started with light grey card stock for the actual card and mounted a piece of checkered blue and pale yellow paper as the back square. I used two strips of blue paper from my Jeweled Textured Stack and rounded the edges with my corner rounder. I then lightly dusted the edges with Royal Blue Ink to distress it. I mounted a piece of the plaid paper onto a scrap of the feux snake skin paper I had left over in the bin. (Yes still working on the scrap bin - but most of it is teeny tiny pieces now!!!) I used one of MFT stamps I hadn't stamped yet...I need to get me some more of those! ha! I stamped her in Jet Black Ink and embossed her with Stamp-It's Hologram Powder. I colored her in with my Crayola's and punched her out with my circle punch. After layering five flowers with a blue brad and adding 3 clear jewels, I wrote "Sometimes...(on the front) ...when it rains - it pours!" (on the inside).

Ok, well I am off to the airport! RIGHT NOW literally!!!! Have an excellent Easter everyone!!!

Enjoy the long weekend...

DARN!!!

I missed Mojo Monday! Hopefully I can get it done this week. It's a busy one for me!

Today is my Birthday!!! YAY YAY YAY!!! I love my birthday. I rarely do anything exciting, but that's not the point. I actually LIKE getting older. LOL I know everyone is thinking I am crazy right now, but I do. I feel like I get better with age. I figure life out more, I care less what people think, I feel more established and like I'm a better friend now. So, every year when I get older, I get excited to mature more I guess. LOL

I know I haven't been posting very many blogs this last week or so. I came down with the worst case of the stomach flu! I had been sick for 9 days!!! It was terrible. I was starting to think something else was going on (preggers anyone?!?) I know that's what my mom and mother-in-law were both thinking! ha! Anyways, I felt better yesterday and even BETTER today, but I am heading to my doctor this afternoon - just in case.

Today is just a random card I made last night. The hubby was in the cigar room smoking one, so I was hangin' in the craft room! I started with some pink swirl paper from the scrap bin and mounted the black and white disco ball sparkle paper (that's what I like to call it) from my All Occasions Glitter Stack onto it. I have been trying to use some of my old stickers and chipboard stuff because I have so much - but since being hooked on stamping lately, the drawer is full and nothings moving out! This one is from the $1.50 bins at Michael's and came with a whole bunch of other cool ones. I like the swirls on the chipboard frame and the fact that more white was showing then black. Good contrast with the disco balls! I used a cake stamp from my Stampendous! Fluffle's set. I stamped it with Jet Black Ink and embossed it with Stamp-It's Hologram Embossing Powder. I sued my Crayola's to do a touch of coloring and then mounted it on the same pink swirl paper as before. I popped it out from the chipboard frame and and put it all on a angle for depth. very simple - but I really liked how it turned out.
If I have time this afternoon I'm gonna try Mojo Monday - but birthdays always seem to be busy! ha!
Have a great day!
Cheers,
S.

Chicks With Inkpads!

Hey Everyone!!!

Well, today my first ever sampler was posted! I am so excited, I don't even have words! I'm so giddy! Hahahahaha...

Of course we all know that I am doing the scrap bin only thing, so all my papers (again) are from the masses of teeny tiny pieces I have left over. But I will get it all used - I vow!!!

I started with the background bright pink card stock from my DCWV's Jewel Textured Stack. Using a punch I made two frilly squares and layered them on top the background. On the left I used some bright blue cardstock and make a strip with a frilled edge on one side. I then mounted a piece of pale green and olive colored vined paper that has some sparkle. I made two different flowers and mounted them both with magenta jeweled brads. Lastly I used some ribbon from Michael's and made a knot. The stamp is by Studio G and is one of their clear sets you can buy at Michael's. I stamped it in Jet Black Ink and embossed it with Stamp-It's Hologram Powder.

Check out the challenge on the Chicks With Inkpads Blog. It's a fabulous color combo!

Thanks for the support ladies!

Cheers,

365 Cards Challenge

Ok, so I don't know if I am supposed to have the cards done for that day, or if I have a couple to do the challenges. I am going to try and enter this one for the "Whit Noise" challenge on 365 Cards Blog.

I started off with a one off piece of paper I got from some gift wrapping a long time ago. It was in the scrap bin so that means I can use it! heehee I think it's really neat home made paper that is that beautiful olivey green I love, and with the tiny bit of gold sparkle through it, makes it perfect! I then picked a pale blue piece of card stock and a patterned strip with mini blue hearts on it and made the piece along the bottom. I added some thin white ribbon with a small bow to that bottom piece and added three jewels on the right hand side for bling. The image is from my Stampendous! Fairy pack. But for some reason I can't find it on their website now to add a link sorry! I stamped it with Jet Black Ink and embossed it with Stamp-It's Hologram Powder. I used my Crayola's to color the little B-fly in and used one of my punches to make it a circle. I mounted it on bright blue, then the same pale blue card stock. I hope it can be included int he challenge!
Thanks for coming by,

Have a great day,

Bella's Challenge

Ok, here it is. My first ever crack at the Bella Challenge. I really liked how the card turned out so, THAT is why I am entering. I do alot of challenges in a week, but I don't always love what I made so I don't post it. Silly, I know, but I am still very self conscious about my work since I'm still a newbie. :)

The Bella image I chose is one of my three. I know, that sounds so piddly doesn't it? What's wrong with me? I LOVE Bella...better get some buying done! ha! This is Blingabella and I just love her. I hope that's what my engagement ring looks like on my finger from afar! hahahahaha!!!! I stamped her with Jet Black Ink and embossed her with Stamp-It's Hologram Powder. I colored her in with my Crayola's and added a clear jewel to her ring! (The bigger the better right?!?) I used all scraps from my bin so I don't know the names or whereabouts of much of this paper, but I do believe the pink came from my DCVW's Jewelled Textured Stack. The orange polka dot is from Creative Memories and has the same story to go along with it as my previous post. Sniff sniff...LOL. I punched out a circle with my patterned paper and mounted it on a pale orange, then the polka dot and trimmed the edges so they look frilly. The sentiment I used is from Stamping Bella too, and I stamped it with DuDrop Green Olive Ink and Embossed with Stamp- It's silver embossing powder. I used one of those curly silver clasps to put the sentiment on so it looks like it can be removed. On the left hand side I used some on my orange Core Color Coredinations paper and ripped a strip of it off. I used some green ribbon and tied 3 knots instead of a bow for a change. After adding my three bling in the bottom right hand corner, I called 'er done!

*** Don't forget to watch for next Tuesday's challenge over at Chicks With Inkpads! It's week three and I got the chance to be a sampler this time! First time ever - can't wait!!!! ***

Thanks for coming and taking a look,

Chicks With Inkpads Week #2

Hello!
Well, since I was TOP 5 in last weeks challenge, I couldn't help but do it again!!!! Watch out because next week I am making a card for their samples!!!! I can't wait!

This weeks challenge was to use all different pink hues! I recognized the picture right away from the new Home Depot Wish Book! Hahahaha - they have some great stuff int here!

I decided to crack open my 'Happy Mother's Day' Mini Stamp set from MFT. It's a tad early to be making Mom's Day cards, but what the heck - I need two anyways! I started with 3 pieces of patterned paper from my scrap bin (L to R) pink with white stripes is from my Costco pack, the pink and white swirls is from a Dollarama pack and the last pink wallpaper (well that's what it looks like to me) is also from my Costco pack. I inked my stamps in Jet Black Ink and embossed them with Stamp-It's Hologram Embossing Powder. I double stamped the image and cut out the border as well as the Easter Lily and pot so I could pop them out. I used my Crayola's to color her in and added some pale pink jewels to the corner flowers for some jazz. On the left side I used a scrap of while lace ribbon and on the right is four layered flower with a jewelled brad as an anchor. On the inside I used the sentiment that came in my mini set that says "Have a Wonderful Mother's Day". I really love this stamp, but had a hard time getting it to stamp even. Probably operator issues! :P

Thanks for taking a look!

WHOOHOO - I'm in the Top 5!!!!!!

Ok, I know only 5 people entered, but hey, that's not the point. I was EXTREMELY excited when I logged onto the Chicks with Inkpads blog and found out I was in the top 5 for their first ever challenge last week! I even called my hubby at work! THEN I read the whole thing and realised only 5 people entered! Hahaha... but I won't let that rain on my parade, I'm still patting myself on the back! hahahaha. The best part is, they have asked us to make samples for the week 3 challenge! BONUS.

Thanks so much Cathy and Donna, you made my day! :)

Mojo Monday #80

Ok, I tried to do this sketch 3 times....and I didn't really like any of them. I thought I was getting better at putting patterned papers together, but for some reason I just couldn't do it today! Grrrr.... I decided to post one anyways, mostly because sometimes we just have to live with the fact that we aren't perfect! Ha! The silver lining is that I am now done my Easter cards though! YAY!

So, I of course did Mojo Monday because I am trying to make a pattern for myself! I started with Neutral card stock as the base and mounted the last piece of my polka dot paper from my Costco pack. I am slowly but surely getting that scrap bin down to nothing - I swear!!! I used Creative Memories orange and white mini dot paper for the bottom piece and mounted it on some blue card stock from my DCWV Jewelled Textured Stack. It tugged at my heart strings a bit because this was probably one of the first pieces of paper I ever got when I started scrapbooking. I got it from an ex's mother in Australia when I was travelling there. She suggested I get some paper and she gave me a really nice book to put my pages in. She told me to collect stuff like shells and admission stubs while I travelled around Oz and to make a scrapbook on my way. I did and although it is VERY amateur...it's still one of my favorites! :) Anyways...I then use a scrap of green patterned paper for the other background piece cutting one edge with my funky scissors to create a inverted ruffle effect. The carrot stamp I bought at Michael's and stamped it with Jet Black ink. I (of course) embossed it with Stamp-It's Hologram Embossing Powder and colored it in with my Crayola's. I added some yellow ribbon from my Discount Bin Zellers Rolls and three forest green jewels. The "sentiment" (which is a picture stamp to me!) is my Happy Easter basket done in forest green ink and embossed with the hologram powder again. For both the stamps I mounted them on the same blue from my Jeweled stack and I lightly dusted the edges with my Violet Ink Pad.

Hopefully my creative juices are working better for me tomorrow...today was a toughy!

Have a great night, thanks for coming,

Just Chuggin' Along...

*** hey everyone! I just found out that Josianne over at Card Making Galore is giving away some fabulous blog candy! It's her one year Blogaversary and she has a bunch a stuff to give away! Check out her blog for more details....***

Good Morning!

This morning I sat down and organized the craft room a little. I need to get some more shelves and those handy dandy drawers for all my paper. Even my scrap bin is overflowing!!!! I also decided to make month by month lists of all the cards I need to make and when I need to send them by. My family is on the West Coast so I need to send their stuff a week in advance. Also, some of my closest friends live in Australia so sending down there takes time too - you gotta be organized!!!! After this card I only have one more birthday card to make for April and three Easter cards! YAY me!

For this card I started with basic grey cardstock to make the actual card and used bright yellow as my base color. I had a scrap of this baby blue and orange plaid paper so I used that for the background. (Like I said the bin is overflowing - must use it all!) After using a large circle punch and making the yellow border, I added that on top of the plaid background. For my image I used my Cakeabella stamp from Stamping Bella. I stamped her in jet black ink and embossed her with Stamp-It's Hologram Powder. I then colored her in with my Crayola's and mounted her on the same bright yellow cardstock. I added some of the dark blue feux snake skin paper at the bottom with orange polka dot ribbon from Michael's. I then layered an orange, two paper flower cutouts (one white one blue) and two yellow sequins with a jeweled brad for some pizazz! (That's a NIFTY word! LOL) Of course the last touch is some clear jewels which I just can't help but use EVERYWHERE! This one is for my other sister in law Laura, it is bright and sunny - just like her!
I think that's about it for today...check back, you never know, you may see more than one post today! :)

Thanks for stopping by,

S.
