Another Day, Another Card...

Ok, I STILL haven't gotten to Mojo Monday yet - but I'm tryin'!!!!

Today's card is an old one I just hadn't posted. I don't know why but I just haven't been interested in making cards lately. Sick and tired of being sick and tired maybe? I dunno.
I made this one for our friends Tricia and Darrell. They had us over for dinner last weekend and I wanted to send them a fun card because they have two young girls!

I started with bright yellow cardstock and mounted a piece from the scrap bin of glittery patterned paper from my DCWV All Occasion Glitter Stack. I tore a piece of green Corecolor Coredinations paper for the bottom and layered a bit of it over the pattern paper. I used a stamp that is from Stampendous in my Changito in Space set. I inked him in Jet Black Ink and embossed him with Stamp-It's Hologram Powder. I used the sentiment "You Rock" from the same set and punched it out mounting it on yellow. The stars are also from that set and I did the same as I did with the sentiment. I colored all the images in with my favorite Crayola's and added some confetti stars by making them stickers with my Xyron! (Love that thing!)

Thanks for stopping by!

Laziness always rules!!!

Ok, so I didn't get to Mojo Monday yet, I was just too lazy today! I thought that the sun was going to come out and I didn't want to waste garden time since it is supposed to snow tomorrow :( I know, I can't believe it either. Ugh.

This card is just a quicky. I started with some orange cardstock and mounted a green piece of sparkly paper from my DCWV All Occasion Glitter Stack. I ripped a piece of blue Coredinations Core Color paper for the left side and stuck that on over top the background. The stamp is from Stamping Bella and I inked it up with Jet Black ink and embossed it with Stamp-It's Hologram Powder. I used my Crayola's to color it in, and found some paper punched flowers left over from another project. After adding pale green jewels to the centres, I bent the "petals" a bit to make the dimensional.
Thanks for stopping by!
Cheers,

DARN!!!

I missed Mojo Monday! Hopefully I can get it done this week. It's a busy one for me!

Today is my Birthday!!! YAY YAY YAY!!! I love my birthday. I rarely do anything exciting, but that's not the point. I actually LIKE getting older. LOL I know everyone is thinking I am crazy right now, but I do. I feel like I get better with age. I figure life out more, I care less what people think, I feel more established and like I'm a better friend now. So, every year when I get older, I get excited to mature more I guess. LOL

I know I haven't been posting very many blogs this last week or so. I came down with the worst case of the stomach flu! I had been sick for 9 days!!! It was terrible. I was starting to think something else was going on (preggers anyone?!?) I know that's what my mom and mother-in-law were both thinking! ha! Anyways, I felt better yesterday and even BETTER today, but I am heading to my doctor this afternoon - just in case.

Today is just a random card I made last night. The hubby was in the cigar room smoking one, so I was hangin' in the craft room! I started with some pink swirl paper from the scrap bin and mounted the black and white disco ball sparkle paper (that's what I like to call it) from my All Occasions Glitter Stack onto it. I have been trying to use some of my old stickers and chipboard stuff because I have so much - but since being hooked on stamping lately, the drawer is full and nothings moving out! This one is from the $1.50 bins at Michael's and came with a whole bunch of other cool ones. I like the swirls on the chipboard frame and the fact that more white was showing then black. Good contrast with the disco balls! I used a cake stamp from my Stampendous! Fluffle's set. I stamped it with Jet Black Ink and embossed it with Stamp-It's Hologram Embossing Powder. I sued my Crayola's to do a touch of coloring and then mounted it on the same pink swirl paper as before. I popped it out from the chipboard frame and and put it all on a angle for depth. very simple - but I really liked how it turned out.
If I have time this afternoon I'm gonna try Mojo Monday - but birthdays always seem to be busy! ha!
Have a great day!
Cheers,
S.

The Early Bee Get's the....?!?

Good Morning Everyone! It is a crisp 6:30 am in my house and I have been awake for 2 hours! I must be on Jamaica time or something...

Originally I thought I wouldn't attempt any challenges this week because work will be crazy, I have lots of things to do for the girls in my Brownie's Group on Wednesday, and I have other cards I just need to get made! But I was looking around the other blogs last night and couldn't help but jot down a few - just in case....WELL, since I was up so early this morning and the last thing I feel like doing is laundry, why not scrap! YAY!!!!

FIRST CARD!!!

This one is for Amy R's Friday Sketch Challenge! I haven't done one for her yet, so here it goes! I got my first Favorite Things stamp while I was away and I just love it! I used the How Sweet It Is stamp and it is perfect for my Sister-in-law's b-day coming up. She is a fabulous stamper and it's always so nerve racking to send her a card...but I LOVE getting her's! FABULOUS ideas.

Anyway...I colored my girl in with my Crayola's and mounted her off center in the boardering circle of purple cardstock from my DCWV Jewel Textrured Stack. I then ripped a strip of some of my Coredinations Core Color paper that my lovely man bought me IN A SCRAPBOOKING STORE (yes he went in and asked for help - my gosh it's a new day!!!!) and I love it so much that I use it VERY spareingly. The background purple flower is from my DCWV All Occasion Glitter Stack and the green border is from the same stack as the purple circle mount. I used the sentiment that came with my stamp that says Sisters and Chocolate...make life bearable. I think that is just perfect! My flowers are made from scraps and a punch and I added the jewels in the center for some sparkle.

SECOND CARD!!!

This one is for Taylor's Sketch Challenge from Taylored Expressions. I love this website, she is so talented! I used the same stamp as yesterdays post I know, but I have a limited supply and I am still working on buying and filling my stamp box. I colored her different to mix it up a little, and I picked this Bella to be blonde! I also embossed her with Stamp-It's Hologram Sparkle Embossing Powder. The blue border is from my DCWV's Neutrals stack and the polka dot is from one of my Costco packs. The smaller circle is punched out of paper from my All Occasion Glitter Stack and the flowers are done the same as the card above. I used some of that ribbon I was talking about in my last post from Zellers (what a steal!) and added some jewels to make it more interesting. This one is fairly simple...but just as effective.

That's today done! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Bless Up!

A Hippity Hop, A Flippity Flop....

Ahhh.......the first of my Easter cards! That means Spring has almost sprung - and boy am I looking forward to it. I have high expectations that when I return from my holiday it will automatically be Spring! LOL

I know it is a tad early to do Easter cards, but one of my best mates lives in Australia and it takes a while to get to her so again, this is one of the one's I have to get done before I go away.

This card is started with the green background cardstock which is from my DCWV Inc.'s Jewel Textured Stack. The purple floral pattern paper is from the DCWV Inc's All Occasion Glitter Stack (can you tell I love this stuff?!?) and is mounted on plain white cardstock. The carrot stamp is from Michael's and is by Studio G again but this one is wood based. I colored with my favorite Crayola's and it is embossed with the Stamp-It Holgram Powder. To finish it off I used 3 dark forest green jewel's and some ribbon from a Dollarama varierty pack.
I love how this one turned out and I may do some duplicates for the rest of the Easter cards I have to make!
Thanks for taking a look, have a great day!

Number Two is up to bat...

I am going away on holidays soon so I need to get some cards done for all the birthdays and events this month. I am waiting on my first Stamping Bella order to arrive and I just pray it comes before I go!!! Especially since it has the St. Patrick's Day stamp I need in it!

This card is for a girlfriend of mine who's birthday is coming up. I wanted something fun and funky just like her! She is a Spring gal, so lots of color was in order! For this one I started with the background paper with the polka dots that came in a paper pack from Costco. Both of the flower patterns are again from the DCWV's All Occasion Paper Pack. The stamp I bought at Michael's and it's by Studio G and came in a four pack with other cute one's. I love my Crayloa's, so thats how I colored my flower in after embossing it with Stamp-It's Hologram Glitter. To add some spunk I made my flower in the bottom left corner from 3 seperate flowers and a brad with a gold jewel in it.

The layout of this card is from the blog Mojo Monday and is from week 75. It's my first attempt at a challenge, and I am a week late in doing it! I thought I would just give it a go! Once I get in the groove I will start posting them on their blogs to see if I can win anything! :)

Thanks again, have a great day!

Let's Start Off Girly!

Hi Everyone! Here we go, very first post EVER on my new crafting site! I have never done this before, so I will be picking up tips from other blogs as well as I am really hoping I improve as I go along! LOL

My first card I made for my neice Teigan who LOVES pink and since it's her birthday coming up, I figured – this pink sparkly gift sticker I had would be perfect!

I bought these at the Scrapbooker’s Paradise North awhile ago, and this is the first one I have used. I mounted it on medium pink paper and then put the argyle black sparkly paper from the DCWV Inc.'s All Occasion Glitter Stack as the background on the same mount. The ribbon/lace I used on the left hand side is actually from Wal-Mart and was left over from a headband for a 50’s flapper girl costume I made a couple years ago!

Thanks for stopping by, feel free to give me any feedback, good or bad - I'll take any constructive criticism I can get! ha!

Have a great day!
